From The Classroom: What Are We Passing On?

Church School Saturday | October 10, 2026

Lesson: God Works Despite Evil
Adult Topic: Choosing Badly
Scripture Focus: Judges 2:6–15
Reflection Theme: Remember. Choose. Pass It On.

From The Classroom…

A generation can inherit land, traditions, and stories without developing a living knowledge of the Lord. Judges 2 invites us to sit with that possibility—and examine our part in the witness we leave.

Faithful influence matters. Joshua and the elders had seen God’s work, and the people served the Lord during their lifetimes. Yet their presence could not substitute forever for the next generation’s own response to God.

This is a call to intentional discipleship. We can tell the story, explain the Scripture, welcome the questions, and show what obedience looks like in ordinary life. We can also acknowledge that every learner must respond. We plant and nurture; we cannot manufacture another person’s faith.

The lesson also brings us face to face with our choices. What we normalize today can become what someone else accepts tomorrow. A practice of prayer, truthfulness, repentance, and compassion leaves a different witness than a pattern of compromise.

Something To Think About…

If someone learned about God by watching my daily choices, what would they understand about Him?

The Classroom Takeaway

Faith must be more than a memory we inherit; it must become a relationship we practice and a witness we pass on.

Beyond The Classroom…

Choose one person to encourage. Share one testimony and one spiritual practice. Invite a question, listen carefully, and make room for a continuing conversation.

A Closing Prayer

Lord, keep our hearts close to You. Help us remember honestly, choose faithfully, and share patiently. Let our lives help others recognize Your goodness and learn to follow You. Amen.
