“Provoke One Another!”
Launch Feature
Theme: “Provoke One Another!”
This week’s Church School SumUp explores the power of Christian fellowship through worship, unity, and Kingdom responsibility. The lesson invites believers to consider how gathering in God’s presence strengthens us inwardly and sends us outwardly to encourage, serve, and build His Kingdom together.
Weekly Lesson: The Value of True Fellowship
This lesson focuses on fellowship as more than simply coming together. Through worship, prayer, peace, discussion, and reflection, viewers are reminded that true fellowship draws us nearer to God and closer to one another. The teaching highlights the balance between “coming in” for spiritual power infusion and “going out” for Kingdom power execution.
Scripture Focus: Matthew 28:18–20; Hebrews 10:22–25
The Scripture focus connects the Great Commission with the call to gather faithfully, encourage one another, and provoke one another to love and good works. Matthew 28:18–20 reminds believers that Christ sends His followers into the world with authority and purpose, while Hebrews 10:22–25 emphasizes the importance of drawing near, holding fast, and not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together.
Hymnology: “What A Fellowship, What A Joy Divine”
This week’s closing hymn, also known as “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms,” was written by Elisha A. Hoffman in 1887 with music composed by Anthony J. Showalter. Born out of a moment of grief and comfort, the hymn reflects the assurance found in Deuteronomy 33:27: “Underneath are the everlasting arms.” Its message reminds believers that fellowship with God brings blessed peace, safety, and strength for the journey.
Key Takeaway
When we gather in unity to worship God in fellowship, He empowers us individually and corporately to go out into the world and build His Kingdom. True fellowship strengthens our connection with God, deepens our connection with one another, and prepares us to serve beyond the gathering.
Application Prompt
How are you balancing your “coming in” and your “going out”? This week, identify one way you need to draw nearer to God for spiritual power and one way you can lead, encourage, or invite someone else closer to Him. Then intentionally provoke someone to love, good works, worship, or fellowship.
