Wielding the gift of song as a weapon of warfare and a point of praise, Evangelist Dorothy Norwood entered the stage of the Marvin AME Zion Church Family Life Center in Waxhaw, NC and announced to all, “The concert has been canceled… We’re gonna have church!” With background vocals courtesy of “Adoration”, Evangelist Dorothy took us to church indeed – beginning our musical experience with “Shake The Devil Off”. She energized and engaged the audience as she made her way down ‘Ole School Blvd.’ singing some of our favorites and ministering by sharing her testimonies of God’s faithfulness.
Although she started on the stage, she quickly made her way to the floor, connecting directly with audience members and encouraging us to make our own personal declaration that “Victory Is Mine”! But it was when she sang “Oh, Jesus!” that the atmosphere had it’s final shift and the Holy Spirit took full control. It was a night that I will always remember! Special thanks to ‘Big Daddy Laugh A Lot’ for using his gift of humor to set the stage for free worship and special thanks to Reverend Sherian Carr and Thompson Chapel AME Zion Church for hosting such a powerful worship encounter!
