Pain indicates that something is wrong and attention is needed. We may allow scars to be painful reminders of former wounds, but scars don’t actually hold pain. They serve as badges that profess that the healing process has been completed. They remind us that we made it to the other side of through. They tell others that pain, regardless of its magnitude, is not permanent.
For many of us, allowing physical wounds to heal is a great deal easier than transitioning mental and spiritual wounds. In all cases, we must make the choice to do what is required to relinquish the pain and whatever is causing it. Making that decision will provoke us to do everything that is needed to facilitate healing. We then become true proponents of pain relief, not just symptom managers.
God desires that we not just survive with our hurts, but that we live in our healing. 3 John 1:2 says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” That Divine desire is for your prosperity in all things. God wants every one of your painful wounds to become powerful scars! Allow what HAPPENED TO YOU to become what HELPS THROUGH YOU!
