NFCC Ladies’ Night Out Supports Jolly Nursery in Kenya!

20150731_205500_resizedIt was truly a ‘Ladies’ Night’ as women gathered at Nations Ford Community Church in support of Jolly Nursery – a school in Kenya where the children eat once every other day.  The $10.00 donation supports a worthy cause while admission into the event sparked a much needed conversation.  Pastor Cynthia Davis worked the ‘Mothering Ministry’ last night as she ministered to us about how we, as Godly women, present ourselves.  Her Focus: “Feeling Good & Looking Godly” was based on 1 Timothy 2:8-10.  Recognizing that we ‘advertise what we are selling’ became the mantra for the evening as she candidly addressed what messages we send out about ourselves by the way we present ourselves to others.  Her admonishment to ‘put off the old man’ (denounce the sinful nature) and ‘put on the new man’ (embrace the righteousness of God) was emphasized by the truth that proper adornment of the outside reflects proper adornment of the heart.  In short – Our outward appearance and behaviors are a direct reflection of our heart condition.  The heart reflects what the mind believes.  For others to see God through us, we MUST Renew Our Minds!!!  This powerful time of impartation concluded with directed prayers… women gathered in small groups as ministers prayed regarding specific issues; and then as Dr. Ramona Joseph prayed corporately over the gathering, Pastor Cynthia laid hands on every woman that answered the altar call.

As Christian women, we influence everyone we encounter and what we ‘advertise’ may be the only reflection of God that others will be open to seeing.  As you walk through your neighborhood, what are you advertising?  As you buy groceries, what are you advertising?  As you work on your job, what are you advertising?  As you participate in the PTA meeting, what are you advertising?  And even as you worship in God’s house, what are you advertising?  We all know that first impressions can be lasting impressions.  What is the first thought that comes to someone’s mind when they look at you?  Do they see ‘the old man’ or do they see ‘the new creation’?  We are mandated by God to adorn ourselves properly to present ourselves appropriately.  With the death and resurrection of Christ, God has positioned us for a great exchange… It is up to us to take advantage of this powerful upgrade and become all that He has ordained for us to be.  So… What Are YOU Advertising???
